The Most Realistic Alien Draw an alien. Make it realistic.
Run it in your place. This kit is everything you need, and anyone may use it.
What you need
- Paper (A4 or larger), one sheet for each person
- Pencils, felt pens or crayons
- A wall, a line or a table to show the aliens
- About an hour
How it goes
- Put the paper and pens on the table before anyone arrives.
- Say the two instructions twice: "Draw an alien. Make it realistic." Then say nothing more.
- Never explain the instructions. The children find out the rest at the wall.
- If someone asks what realistic means: "Realistic. The way it really looks." Then nothing more.
- Draw too. You are a maker in the room, not a judge.
- If someone says "mine is ugly": "I see you care. What do you like about it?"
- When the aliens are done, each gets a name and a place where it lives.
- Stamp every alien's label the same: REALISTIC · CONFIRMED.
- Hang every alien, with the same space for each one.
- Everyone stands by their alien and says one thing they notice.
- Close with: "You made something that wasn't here this morning."
