The Ideal Place Imagine the place you would like to live. Draw it together.
One city, many hands, with care for the natural world.
Run it in your place. This kit is everything you need, and anyone may use it.
What you need
- A very large sheet, a roll of paper or a wall you may paint on
- Paints, brushes or thick markers
- Space for everyone to reach the surface
- Half a day or a day
How it goes
- Sit together first: what would the place you would like to live have? Listen; every idea is welcome.
- Ask about nature too: where are the trees, the water, the animals?
- Everyone starts drawing their own part of the city on the big surface.
- Then say yes, and: add to what someone else started, never erase it.
- Take a photo every few minutes if you want a short stop-motion film of the city growing.
- When it is finished, walk along it together. Each person shows one thing they added.
- If the mural cannot stay, the photographs keep it.
In Rishikesh it became a mural on the rocks by the river. It works just as well on a big sheet of paper on a table.
