The Magic Tree
Installation / Dimensions Variable / India / 2009
The Magic Tree was designed to teach children the basics of photography, cinema and installation art. A series of workshops focused on the fundamentals of photography. Within the workshops two portraits, one “happy” and one “silly”, were taken of each child. The portraits were developed, laminated, and mounted on wooden boards. The boards were hung artistically from branches of a tree, forming The Magic Tree installation. Wind would spin the boards, yielding simple animation. Let the wind decide how I feel today.

A brilliant project! I am so attracted to the use of natural elements as a component to the image taking. This is clever and inspiring on many levels.
Thank you for this work!
